General Warehouse Operative

Our client, a furniture wholesaler supplying major furniture retailers throughout the UK, are currently recruiting for an experienced General Warehouse Operative in preparation for their move to a new state of the art facility in Knutsford early 2023.  As General Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for processing daily deliveries of goods in and out of the warehouse along with other general warehouse duties. The right individual will ensure tasks are undertaken in a timely manner in an extremely fast paced environment and have the ability to work to tight deadlines with a flexible approach. You will receive full on the job training, but past experience in a role of this type will be an advantage.

Initially, the position will be based in Cheadle with the anticipated move to Knutsford in early 2023. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package along with the opportunity to develop further within the business.


Role:


As General Warehouse Operative you will report directly to the warehouse team leader. You will be responsible for processing daily deliveries of goods in and out of the warehouse along with other general warehouse duties.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Picking and packing orders
  • Loading goods for dispatch on our own vehicles
  • Ensuring any loads are safe and secure
  • Stacking and wrapping pallets
  • Storing goods in the warehouse using manual processes, forklift, and manual handling aids
  • Accepting incoming goods and comparing them against paperwork, reporting any shortages or damages.
  • Loading outgoing goods for external logistics companies and checking against paperwork, rectifying any shortages or damages before loading and reporting any issues as a matter of course.
  • Ensuring all areas of work are clean and tidy including general housekeeping tasks.
  • Complying with company Quality, Health Safety and Environment policy at all times.
