Administration Manager

We are working exclusively to recruit for an Administration Manager to join a well-regarded and ambitious North West Chartered Accountancy firm who cover all areas of accountancy. As Administration Manager you will work with the business on implementing a new software system in order to manage the workflow of all client work, delegate tasks accordingly, providing administration support to client’s and other internal team members.  You will have exceptional organisational skills, a positive attitude, excellent attention to detail and will be used to working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The successful Administration Manager will be willing to spend time in both the Chester and Manchester offices, some home working is also possible. Role:

The key purpose of this role is to manage our workflow and new client intake setup, requesting information and ensuring all files are kept up to date and in line with legislation. As Administration Manager, you will assist in setting up the new practice management software system, therefore you will ideally have experience of implementing systems and procedures that have contributed to improved efficiencies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the new practice management software system
  • Managing workflow – Identify incomplete bookkeeping, VAT returns and accounts, and requesting the information
  • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the administrative department
  • Developing, reviewing, and improving administrative systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure all files are kept up to date and in line with legislation
  • Delegate tasks to staff to complete
  • Monitor client satisfaction and report on client complaints, losses etc.
  • Manage new client onboarding process


Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role ideally within practice
  • Proven experience of implementing systems and procedures that have contributed to improved efficiencies
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to process large volumes of accounting data timely and accurately
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current financial regulations and legislation
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
  • Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail is key
  • Able to work under pressure and in fast paced environments
  • A great team player 
  • A desire to show initiative
