Accounts & Audit Senior

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a well-established firm of Chartered Certified Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Liverpool. They provide a comprehensive accountancy service with additional services including business advisory services, taxation advice/planning and company secretarial support. As Accounts senior your role will be to prepare accounts for small to medium size Limited Companies across a wide range of industry sectors and will have experience in both accounts and auditing. As an Accounts Senior you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients and you will get involved liaising with them on a regular basis, handling all bookkeeping and VAT returns for clients in your portfolio as well as preparing year end accounts, monthly financial statements and tax computations. You will also be responsible for supporting the payroll team when required and provide mentoring support to junior staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts preparation on behalf of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • Assisting on / taking the lead on audit assignments, supervising other members of staff and client management
  • Liaising with clients regarding any queries and in respect of accounting and audit matters
  • Preparation of accounts on behalf of a range of clients as required
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior staff
  • Tailoring audit programmes to suit clients’ individual needs

Essential Skills:

  • AAT, ACA, ACCA Qualified
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a practice environment is essential
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Have good level of organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate they can work in a team but also off their own initiative
